Our Vacancies
It’s the VETS, Plympton is growing fast and we now need an additional Full Time Receptionist to expand our small yet supportive team.
Regular hours, 10:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday, 1 in 3 Saturday mornings 8:45-12:15
Responsible for:
- welcoming clients as they arrive for appointments
- answering incoming telephone and email queries
- booking appointments
- registering new clients
- taking messages for the clinical team
- taking payments
- cashing up (card payments only)
- locking up (no lone working)
- monitoring stock levels
- ordering stock
- keeping the team informed on stock supply issues
- feeding information back to clients from the clinical team
Regular hours, 10:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday,
1 in 3 Saturday mornings 8:45-12:15
In-house training on relevant non-prescription products and clinic protocols
Previous hospitality experience preferred
No medical knowledge required
Salary £11.50-12.50 ph depending on previous experience
5.6 weeks annual leave

It’s the VETS, Plympton is growing fast and we now need an additional Registered Veterinary Nurse to expand our small yet supportive team.
- No OOH or on-call!
- 2 WEEKS OF EARLIES (7:45-4:15), 1 WEEK LATES (10:00-6:30) plus one in three Saturday mornings (9-12) . Plenty of daylight hours to enjoy everything Devon has to offer!
- We would really suit someone who is looking for the benefits of a small, efficient, and helpful team.
- In house training to help hone your skills, work alongside two very experienced and helpful RVNs
- The clinic – spacious, beautifully maintained, well laid out to minimise frustration and well stocked.
- Digital x-ray system, ultrasound, multi-parameter monitor, in-house lab, separate cat and dog waiting areas, consult rooms and wards, dental room and treatment area for consults away from prep, large airy theatre.
- 2 Vets, 3 RVNs, 1 PCA, 2 dedicated receptionists – a compact and perfectly formed team!
Here at It’s the VETS, Plympton we utilise our nurses to their potential and value them as a key component in all aspects of the clinic. You will be able to:
- Use and improve your skills in nurse led appointments to triage effectively, manage new registrations, routine history taking, explain treatment plants and foster great relationships with our lovely clients
- Assist in a good caseload of surgical procedures, investigative work ups and inpatient care
- Work in a Cat Friendly Clinic with ‘Fear-Free’ approach to patient visits complete with separate reception waiting areas, consult rooms and ward.

Position:
- NO ON-ON CALL or NIGHT SHIFTS!
- Registered Veterinary Nurse (Required)
- 1 year previous experience preferred

- Starting salary £27-30,000
- CPD £500, RCVS and VDS
